Sun PhuQuoc Airways Officially Granted Air Transport License: A New Breeze in Vietnam’s Skies

On June 13, 2025, the Ministry of Construction officially granted Air Transport Business License No. 01/2025/GPKDVCHK to Sun Phu Quoc Co., Ltd., marking the official establishment of Sun PhuQuoc Airways under Sun Group. The airline launches with a total investment capital of VND 2,500 billion (approximately USD 99 million).

Sun PhuQuoc Airways becomes Vietnam’s seventh airline.

By becoming Vietnam’s seventh airline, Sun PhuQuoc Airways joins the ranks of leading carriers such as Vietnam Airlines, VietJet, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, VASCO, and Vietravel Airlines. The airline is positioned as a full-service carrier combined with premium charter services, with a strategic focus on the tourism and leisure travel market.

Operations Center and Connectivity Model

Domestic Network: Connecting major cities including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, complemented by a charter flight system tailored to resort travelers.
International Network: Initially targeting key markets such as Japan, South Korea, and China, with expansion plans into high-potential regions including Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Australia.

Operational Timeline:

Inaugural flight scheduled for Q4/2025
Fleet target by 2030: 31 aircraft, supporting a diversified domestic and international flight network.
